Registering your IBExpert license


Registration information

We require the following information for your product registration:

  • User name(s)
  • User email address(es)
  • Computer name(s) of the computer(s), where IBExpert is to be installed (this does not apply to Site and VAR licenses)

Computer Name

To determine your computer name in Windows®, go to the Windows' ® My Computer and select the right-click menu item System Properties. On the second page you will find the computer name (Full Computer Name).

Or even simpler: go to our download area (http://www.ibexpert.com/download/other_files/) and download the file, which_is_my_computername.zip to the hard drive. Unzip the file and simply doubleclick the file which_is_my_computername.vbs. The computername, which is needed for the IBExpert registration process, appears automatically.

Unfortunately special characters in the computer name and company name cannot be taken into account when generating the IBExpert license keys. We therefore issue keys based on computer names containing such characters up until the first special character.

If you have to change the computer name for a valid registered license, please send the registration information for the new or renamed computer to register@ibexpert.com. Please do not forget to include the License ID that you received with the initial registration.

License key and download link for old licenses

Should you wish to change the computer name for an expired license (where the IBExpert license or sofware assurance update validity expired more than 12 months ago), you will need to purchase our service charge, quoting the IBExpert license ID, old computer name and new computer name when ordering. Following receipt of payment, we will then send you a new license key for the new computer and access to the last setup version available during your license update validity period.

License keys

The license keys for these computer names are generated and dispatched via email on the first working day following receipt of payment, provided we have received all the necessary registration information.

Please take into account that the license keys are generated only for those computer name(s) specified in your order or online shop.
